LA Weekly’s Couples Issue 2014
The LA Weekly is our local weekly paper here in Los Angeles; for Valentines Day they did a feature on local couples. Among the straight couples, they included both a gay couple and a straight couple in where the husband is a transvestite. Thought you guys might enjoy this, it’s a pretty good read.

(For anyone who isn’t familiar with Los Angeles, West Hollywood is gay central and the home to LA’s most notorious gay bars. At least one of the crosswalks in WeHo is actually painted in rainbow colors. Proud to see such love in my city, fuck yeah LA!)

Here’s another beautiful video, this one of Jason and Tony’s wedding, the first gay marriage ceremony held the Plaza Hotel in New York City. I’m sure I’ve posted this before but I can’t seem to find it. Either way, it’s worth a second viewing. The first time I saw it I cried. I think because their kids were involved with it. Must be fantastic to grow up with that kind of love in the house.
Found this on Vimeo – it’s a highlight reel of Patrick and Scott’s wedding from 2011, two years before gay marriage was legalized in Minnesota. Watching this made my heart swell, especially when they were dressing each-other. Even though I sometimes write about couples in love, nothing I write will ever be as sweet as the real thing.
Tshepo Cameron Modisane and Thoba Calvin Sithole tied the knot in traditional Zulu and Tswana attires, in a ceremony which took place in the town of KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal. The newly-married couple, who are both 27 and have been together for three years, made their vows in front of 200 guests.
