So one of my readers and I were talking about one of my recent posts with Rasheed and Ali, and we subsequently decided a few random things about the characters. Ali came from wealthy parents, but Rasheed came from immigrants. Rasheed grew up to be a respectable painter and artist, who became quite desired because he painted at a glacially slow pace – mostly because he often got distracted and ended up painting Ali instead. There was a whole room of those Ali paintings in his house that built up over the years.
It was decided that Rasheed gave a Ali a 40th’ wedding anniversary present by putting all of his artwork of Ali on display in chronological order. We also decided that at this gallery opening, Ali’s mother would actually show up and they would reconcile; she basically disowned him in his 20s for marrying a man.
