I published Sticking the Landing on December 27th, but soon after that I noticed a well-known gay fiction publisher was accepting submissions for an anthology due on February 1st. I decided to go for it.

Well, trying to churn out material from scratch was goddamn hard work. I started three prompts and dropped two. My work schedule went insane because my boss is incompetent and my focus went on the window. Right before the deadline, I emailed the publisher and asked for an extension. She gave me 48 hours. The day of that deadline, I realized my story needed 40% more content to be coherent. I sent her an e-mail, resigning from the applicant pool. To my surprise, she gave me five more days. I went for it.

I submitted it 25 minutes late, at 12:25 am on a Sunday when it was due on Saturday. I have no idea if she’s gonna accept it or not, or if she even likes it. I didn’t have time to do a full beta read and I rushed the sex scenes, so it probably needs a shit ton of editing I didn’t have time to do. What matters now is that it’s over. It’s finally over.

Since January 5th. I’ve written over 30,000 words. This is what I’ve been off doing, and now it’s over. Now, I can focus on getting a non-shitty job and also writing more chapters for Lucien and Milou and Brazos. I also have to get some dental work done, clean my apartment, oh and make dinner… haven’t eaten much today.

Oh, and I wrote all of this out but my browser crashed when I went looking for a gif and had to rewrite it. FML.

A couple days ago there was a guy on my dashboard, ass to the camera, looking over his shoulder. Naked, army helmet on, holding a lit flame thrower, and looking slightly crazed.

(Also, again, I apologize for lack of posts, our store manager has over-stretched himself and has slowly lost control of our store. I’m working three times the normal hours we’re so short handed. I am doing my best to do resolve this because I’m on the verge of snapping. I just wanna stay home and write captions to jiggly asses ;_;)

Again, I apologize for the lack of updates. My manager at work is fucking with everyone’s schedule and responsibilities to the point that we’re calling a store meeting because we’re all on the verge of all quitting at once. Things should be better soon.

I’m submitting something to a Dreamspinner’s Press anthology and the due date to apply is on the 1st of February, so any spare time I have is going into that. I apologize if anyone feels ignored, I’ll try to update at least once a day.

It’s been so far removed from context and my intent I’m just at a loss. I’ve been accused of fetishizing the plight of queer rights. I’ve been accused of stealing pictures for attention. Someone even berated me for animal cruelty because that phrase involving stuffing implied eating turkey. I have been up to 5:30 am apologizing to everyone and sending personal responses to every unhappy reblog and PM. I need to stem this tide somehow. Please, please delete it.

i mean it’s not like that was the ONLY time it was disrespectful to make up false stories about real people

This was a response to the clusterfuck over this post I naively wrote last year, in where some people thought it was real and I had to do some damage control. (In case anyone is wondering, this is the Tumblr of the couple in the picture.)

I do want to respond to this though, just in case anyone feels the same way. I am making up false stories, but not exactly about real people. I am not using their names in the story and writing stories as them (like in fanfiction, which I do not write). I use the people in the pictures as inspiration and write a prompt based on the scene I see. 99% of the time I haven’t seen the porn it belongs to, or the rest of the photoset. I always use different names than the people in the pictures. Matter of fact, I actually keep a book of baby names on my desk for this because I keep running out of names. I invent personalities as they come to me. 

I have started adding ‘fiction’ disclaimer to most of my posts. I try to find sources and photographers when I can, but it’s a challenge even with reverse image searches.

I have been doing this September and no one has messaged me yet to take down a post. I write these as exercises, mostly as practice for writing original fiction. It is never my intention to impersonate or act as other people. That’s all.

Aww hello, you’re not bothering me. Thank you for the message. I did watch Five Dances – when I found out there was a gay ballet movie I got quite excited. The distribution was quite sparse so I ended up streaming it illegally (ssshh) online. I was really disappointed and let down by it. The dancing in it was beautiful, but the plot development was neglected; the story arc was thin, disjointed, and awkward. Five Dances had such incredible potential to be the next Weekend, too, so I was more frustrated at the waste of such a great plot than anything. It kind of ruined the film for me.

I worked a full day today then had to go help my friend organize his apartment as his neat-freak roommate was starting to go nuts over his clutter. I shall do a big update tomorrow… but I will do some ballet stuff tonight.

Sorry it’s been slow lately. Someone quit suddenly at work so I’m covering a lot of extra shifts, plus I’m not sleeping well and I need to get a wisdom tooth pulled so my jaw hurts a bunch. Ow. Will try to update more this week.
