If any of you can tell me who the hotties fucking in this post are, I’ll write a sequel to it. All I know is that it’s Sean Cody but I can’t really see their faces.

One of my brilliant 6,000 readers should know this.

I knew you guys had it in you. Two of you responded – Stu and Blake from Sean Cody. Thanks!

Just got a nice paycheck and bought a portable folding bluetooth keyboard. Aw hell yeah. Can’t wait to get a good writing set up going.

Also thinking of taking a writing vacation once it arrives…

PS:

I just posted that someone is again reblogging a post of mine that was believed to be erroneously real as it originally lacked the ‘fictional’ disclaimer. Shortly after, I received a couple wonderful messages of support:

“The story was real. It did not factually describe the photograph it accompanied, but it was true for thousands and thousands of people who had experienced it. Don’t forget that.”

and

“Please please please don’t apologize for that old holidays post sans disclaimer. It may have been written as fiction but I’d bet it’s a sad reality for many of us. Your work touches hearts; please don’t ever feel like it needs an apology.”

I just want to say that this is very sweet, and I was really touched by the support. It’s a relief too. I’ve mentioned this before, but being a writer on Tumblr is weird because you receive very little feedback. I’m pretty sure most of my readers are lurkers. So, thank you.
It hurts to know people are still being prosecuted for their sexuality – probably someone who reads this right now is experiencing that. I feel helpless that I can’t help more. Next time you feel like making a charitable donation, please consider helping out your local LGBT+ shelter or other pro LGBT+ charity. I know I will.

(Also – holy shit I posted that in November 2013? I’ve been on Tumblr two years??)

For those who have me on notification – I’m sorry I spammed the shit out of your phone this Christmas. There were SO many great photos on my dashboard I just went pfft and captioned as many as I could. I mean – you don’t mind right?

Hope you guys had a great holiday season 🙂

Follow up on writing on my tablet

Follow up on writing on my tablet

I mentioned in a previous post that I’m experimenting with new portable writing systems and that I got a new keyboard case for my tablet. Well, the case works as should but there’s an issue with the mapping of the keyboard. In order to get a ’ or “ you have to hold down the FN key plus the action key, and the FN key and the keys for ’ and ” are in an unnatural position. It makes my hand cramp.

So, now I decided to just buy one of those silicon roll up keyboards when I get paid next. Full size is what I need. I just can’t stop and look at the keyboard every time a need a quote mark. I type like 90 WPM. Not gonna happen.

Sigh. Technology is amazing as it is frustrating.

A note on writing

A note on writing

Some of you (probably like five) are wondering why I haven’t released anything in long form for a while. Like over a year. I was wondering that myself, since I have a lot of ideas. I realized that I didn’t have a good tool to write with. My personal laptop was too distracting. My travel laptop (remember netbooks?) was older, heavy, and a cracked hinge made it hard to open; plus there was an issue with RAM that made it run slow. A couple months back, I acquired a low-end tablet as part of a promotional deal with Verizon when I upgraded my phone, and started realizing its potential.

I bought a keyboard case, but it was a poor product so I returned it. The holidays happened and I got distracted… and I checked Amazon a few days ago, and a very nice one was on sale. So now I have a decent portable keyboard case for my tablet. I can take it and write anywhere, get internet anywhere, and it’ll sync to my Dropbox.

I have a feeling this is going to be a game-changer. Now, all I need to do is replace my busted headphones and build up my Spotify account. Let’s see what happens!

Problems updating remotely

Problems updating remotely

So apparently there’s some issue with updating my Tumblr from a tablet or smart phone. The drafts say they save, but when you go into the draft again the changes have been discarded. Reblogged posts with captions don’t show up at all, and you can only reblog a photo if you haven’t put a caption in it.

This is why I couldn’t update Thursday or Friday. I had two drafts ready, but were unable to post because I wasn’t near my laptop. Part of me thinks it’s the internet, but since it worked in other aspects I’m not really sure…might be the app. So I’m sorry for the lack of posts the last two days. Sigh.

I just put up one of them now.

Goddamn Tumblr ate my entire draft. Rolling 10/10s post into Friday. Been non stop crazy here with work, but will be free this weekend to write plenty!
