On June 28th, I had to put one of my parakeets to sleep because she was very ill. My other bird became very depressed at this loss, so a couple weeks ago I got her friend. Unfortunately, the new bird passed away a few hours ago. This happened exactly one month after I had to put my other bird to sleep. It’s been a very hard past few hours.

I had to put down one of my birds today, and so captions are just not happening. I just don’t have it in me to do anything but sit here and stare blankly at Reddit.

Guess who got a new laptop =D well, it’s a new older laptop. It’s a Thinkpad and it’s a beast. I can type like a maniac on it. You guys will definitely be getting more posts now.

I couldn’t post yesterday cause of work (I was on tour for five days and was wrapping up), so I tried to get a post out at like 2 in the morning…but then the Orlando news started to trickle in.

It’s heavy. It was easier for me to keep working at my job and not think about it.
The news is everywhere now though, on Reddit and Facebook and Tumblr, and it’s not something that should be ignored anyway. The death toll has gone up. I keep picturing that scene in Queer as Folk US (spoiler alert!) when the bomb goes off in Babylon, and they show scenes of it with dead bodies and debris and blood. And it’s hard to write with that in your head. I could write something like I did for the Bataclon shooting in France, with characters talking about it in front of the TV, but I can’t think of a single thing I could do in this situation.
The Orlando shooting is now the largest mass shooting in US history, with 50 people dead, and trying to internalize that isn’t easy when it’s simultaneously so …so unnecessary.

I’ll try and post something sugary and sweet later.
